WHY WE'RE DOING THISForgotten Rest
We’re living in an age where many of us have forgotten how to rest.
In a world where attention is continuously captured and stillness is rare, we need new infrastructures of rest to help us rebuild capacity and resilience. Places and practices that help us regulate, reconnect, and return to one another.
We will use this community vision to help us inform design decisions at the hermitage.
We Want Your Vision in the Painting
We are building Heartstone Hermitage with and for community. In order to do this, we need to hear from you. What does rest mean to you? Please take a few minutes to complete our survey. Your responses will help inform the themes, symbols, and moments included in the artwork.
What Your Donation Makes Possible
Your donation directly funds a commissioned piece of artwork that will help us, and our wider community, see what a collective future of rest could look like at Heartstone Hermitage.
With your support, we will commission Molly Wheat-Baker, a local artist, to create a painting that imagines:
What it looks like when people can rest with each other
What it feels like when care is shared, not carried alone
What changes when rest is designed into community life
